One app, sized for the screen it is on.
The iPhone build, the iPad layout and the Mac app are the same app, and one Pro subscription covers all three.
- Mac app with a menu bar, multiple windows and ⌘-click selection.
- iPad layouts that use the width instead of stretching a phone screen.
- Watch companion, widgets, Car Mode and Siri shortcuts on iPhone and iPad.
FoxDL One app across three devices usually means one app designed for the smallest and stretched onto the others. The tell is an iPad screen with a column of phone-sized rows down the middle and nothing either side of it.
Each version here is laid out for the device it runs on, and the free tier differs on the Mac for a reason worth stating plainly: the Mac build contains no advertising SDK at all, so it meters differently.

Questions people ask about this
What is different between the iPhone, iPad and Mac versions?
The engine, the library and the features are the same on all three, and one Pro subscription covers them together. The differences are the layout, a few iPhone-only extras like the Watch companion and Car Mode, and the free tier: the Mac has no advertising at all, so its allowances are daily instead of earned.
Read the guideIs FoxDL a real Mac app?
Yes — it runs natively on macOS with a menu bar, keyboard shortcuts, ⌘-click multi-select, multiple windows and the player in its own resizable window, plus Reveal in Finder. It is the same app and the same library as on iPhone, and one subscription covers both.
Read the guideHow does FoxDL work on iPad?
The iPad layout uses the width instead of stretching a phone screen: multi-column browsing, multi-select, keyboard and trackpad support, drag and drop onto the window, and USB-C drives browsed in place. Everything else — player, downloads, IPTV — is identical to the iPhone.
Read the guideIs there an Apple Watch app, widgets and Siri support?
Yes on iPhone and iPad: an Apple Watch companion for what is playing, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and Siri shortcuts for the actions you repeat — including starting the sleep timer. Playback is also controlled from the Lock Screen and Control Centre.
Read the guideCan I lock the app with a passcode or Face ID?
Yes. FoxDL can be locked with a 4-6 digit PIN plus Face ID or Touch ID, with a recovery code in case you forget it. That lock covers the whole app. For individual files there is also the vault, which has its own passcode and, unlike the app lock, genuinely encrypts what you put in it.
