Can I lock the app with a passcode or Face ID?
Yes. FoxDL can be locked with a 4-6 digit PIN plus Face ID or Touch ID, with a recovery code in case you forget it. That lock covers the whole app. For individual files there is also the vault, which has its own passcode and, unlike the app lock, genuinely encrypts what you put in it.

The lock covers the app, not individual files: opening FoxDL asks for the PIN or a biometric match, and an auto-lock timer decides how quickly it locks again after you leave.
It is a screen lock rather than encryption, and the page says so plainly — the files themselves are protected by the device’s own encryption, which is what actually protects them if the device is lost. The vault is the other thing: files moved into it are encrypted with a key of their own, and stay unreadable even to something that reads the storage directly.
Face ID and Touch ID are handled by the system: the biometric data never leaves the Secure Enclave and is never available to the app or to us.
