FoxDL is three things at once: a player that opens what other players won’t, a real file manager, and a download engine that keeps working in the background. You bring the content; FoxDL opens it, plays it and keeps it tidy.
No full-screen ads. No account. Nothing you add ever leaves your device.
FoxDL
FoxDL Most apps do one of these and send you elsewhere for the rest. FoxDL keeps the same library, the same folders and the same playback position across all three.
MKV, WebM, AVI, MP4, FLAC, HLS and more — no converting, no waiting. Subtitle and audio track selection, playback speed, a 10-band equalizer, Picture in Picture and background listening.
Create folders, rename, move, compress, pull the audio out of a video. PDFs, Office documents and photos open without leaving the app. Favorites, playlists and recently played tidy up a messy library.
Chunked, multi-connection transfers that keep going in the background and resume from exactly where they stopped — even after the app was closed or the network dropped.
Every part is there in the free version. Nothing is a teaser screen you can’t open.
Tabbed browsing, bookmarks and a content blocker. PDFs, ZIPs and documents land in your library in one tap, and media on the page is detected as you scroll.
Add the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes account of a service you legally subscribe to: channels, a movie and series catalogue, the programme guide and catch-up.
Search and subscribe to podcasts, keep episodes for the flight, and find radio stations worldwide in a list or on a map.
Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, pCloud and more — plus WebDAV, Nextcloud and ownCloud. Browse them like folders and pull what you need down.
Open a browser on your computer and enter the PIN, or send files phone to phone with a 6-digit code. Nothing passes through a server of ours.
Bookmark a folder on an external disk or another app’s storage and play straight from it — no copying, no doubling your storage.
An encrypted vault with its own passcode for anything you would rather nobody scrolled past, app lock with a PIN and Face ID, folder-by-folder control over what goes into your iCloud backup, and an analytics switch you can turn off for good.
The same app, sized for each. Lock Screen controls, Home Screen widgets, an Apple Watch companion and Siri shortcuts come along.
One library and one Pro subscription across all of them — but each version is shaped for the screen it runs on, and the free tier works differently on the Mac. Pick yours and see exactly what it does.
MKV without converting, downloads that keep going in the background, IPTV in your pocket, plus Watch, widgets and Car Mode.

See what it does hereFoxDL doesn’t host anything and doesn’t want a copy. Every route below is a direct line between your device and where your files already are.
Send files and photos straight from any other app, or drop them onto the window.
Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, pCloud, Baidu and Aliyun.
WebDAV, Nextcloud and ownCloud, with credentials kept in the Keychain.
A browser page on your computer, protected by a 6-digit PIN you approve.
Two phones, one 6-digit code, an encrypted peer-to-peer link.
Play in place from a connected disk or a bookmarked folder.
FoxDL There are no full-screen ads that appear out of nowhere — that ad unit does not exist in the app, and none may be added. In the free version ads sit in place on the page. The short clip you watch to go past a free allowance is always one you start yourself.
The free version is the whole app, metered. Pro turns the meter off — one subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Why the two free columns differ: the Mac app ships no advertising at all, so there is no short break to earn an allowance with — free use there is metered daily or by a fixed count instead. Pro is identical on every platform, and one subscription covers all of them. An iPhone or iPad app running on an Apple silicon Mac follows the Mac column.
The short commitment. Useful for a trip or a single busy month.
The middle ground, billed calendar-monthly.
The lowest weekly rate of the three.
Prices are set per region and shown in your own currency inside the app and on the App Store before you buy.
Open the MKV in FoxDL and it plays. FoxDL decodes MKV itself instead of handing the file to the system player, so there is no conversion step and no waiting — and the subtitle and audio tracks inside the file stay selectable while it plays.
Read the FAQYes. When FoxDL leaves the screen, transfers hand over to a system background session and carry on — through switching apps, locking the phone, or the app being closed. Finished files land in your library and a notification tells you they arrived.
Read the FAQOpen Sources, choose to add a playlist, and paste the M3U or M3U8 URL your provider gave you — or pick an .m3u file from Files or Finder. FoxDL parses it once, stores the channels locally, and the list is ready to browse and search.
Read the FAQCreate folders, rename, move, multi-select, compress and delete — plus open PDFs, Office documents and photos in place, and pull the audio out of a video. Favorites, playlists and recently played sit on top, and they survive renaming or moving the underlying file.
Read the FAQMove files into the vault and they are encrypted with ChaCha20-Poly1305 using a key generated on your device that never leaves it. They disappear from your library, from search and from the Files app, and no decrypted copy is ever written to disk — the vault has its own passcode, separate from the app lock.
