Where are my files stored, and can I see them in the Files app?
Short answer
Everything you add lives in FoxDL’s own Documents folder, which appears in the Files app on iPhone and iPad and in Finder on the Mac. You can move files out at any time. Thumbnails and working data sit in cache folders instead, so they never clutter what you see.

Three separate places, on purpose:
- Documents — your content only. Visible in the Files app and Finder, backed up if you allow it.
- Application Support — the library database and working files. Backed up, invisible.
- Caches — thumbnails and anything the app can rebuild. Purgeable by the system, and it repairs itself when the system clears it.
Deleting the app removes all three, which is the one thing to be careful about: an iOS app’s Documents folder goes with the app. If a file matters, keep it on a cloud account, a WebDAV server or an external drive — FoxDL plays those in place without needing to hold the only copy.
You also decide, folder by folder, what goes into your iCloud backup, so a 40 GB video folder does not eat a quota you would rather spend on photos.
