How do I extract the audio from a video?
Open the file menu on a video and choose to convert it to audio. FoxDL pulls the audio stream out into its own file — useful for lectures, podcasts and music videos you would rather listen to. Free use is metered: 2 passes on iPhone and iPad, 1 a day on the Mac.

The conversion is a copy, not a re-encode where it can be: the audio stream is lifted out of the video container into an audio file, which is fast and loses nothing.
The result appears in your library as a normal audio file — playable in the background, addable to playlists, and covered by the equalizer.
