How do I add an Xtream Codes account?

Short answer

Open Sources, choose Xtream, and enter the panel address, username and password from your provider. FoxDL loads live channels, the movie and series catalogue, the EPG and catch-up where the provider offers them — no M3U URL needed.

An Xtream Codes account gives a richer client than a flat M3U list: the catalogue arrives structured, with seasons and episodes, posters, descriptions and a programme guide.

What you get

  • Live channels with categories and search.
  • Movies and series, with seasons, episodes and resume where you left off.
  • EPG — the programme guide, with what is on now and next.
  • Catch-up, where the provider records it: go back to a programme that has already aired.
  • Downloads for offline viewing, capped to one connection so your account quota is respected.

Credentials go into the Keychain. Stream URLs that embed the password are never written to the database — they are rebuilt at the moment of playback and thrown away after.

Most panels allow a limited number of simultaneous connections. FoxDL keeps track of what it is using so a download does not silently cost you the connection you are watching on.

The long version M3U, Xtream Codes, EPG: what the words mean and which one you have M3U or Xtream, what an EPG needs to work, what causes buffering, and who can fix it.
